This program is a unique and immersive educational experience where chefs and foodservice workers are exposed to the Louisiana and the Gulf Coast fisheries. Using an interdisciplinary approach, this program explores our regional fisheries, including the people, waterways, vessels and environmental science that connects it all. Participants learn about a variety of impacts to the resources required to source our beloved seafood recipes.

Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club Paddle
The Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club (BCKFC) is a Non-Profit 501(c)(7) volunteer run organization with a strong focus on developing all aspects of kayak fishing and paddling as a recreational and competitive sport in Louisiana and throughout the Gulf Coast.
Founded in 2005 by several enthusiasts, the club has quickly grown into one of the premier kayak fishing clubs in the US and the largest in the entire Gulf Coast with over 500 active members and growing. The club strives to provide a friendly organization for area kayak fisherman from across the South. With an open public forum as well as a private member’s section, there is a wealth of information and ideas that have accumulated here since this club began many years ago from experienced kayakers and fishermen alike.
The Water Collaborative envisions an inclusive network of communities who work to make sure our world is climate resilient with New Orleans a leader in rights based water management.
Cook-Off for the Coast is a celebration of both south Louisiana food and coastal restoration. Food is such an important and integral part of both our coast and our culture (after all, we’re known as a “Sportsman’s Paradise”), and it’s only right that this event combines the two!
The Cook-Off is a family-friendly event started in 2017 in St. Bernard Parish to help raise awareness about Louisiana’s land loss crisis and the urgent need for coastal restoration. This is a FREE event and open to the public. Proceeds from merchandise sales and donations benefit local coastal restoration projects. Free food samples are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana
Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana is training the next generation of coastal leaders. We hosted the biggest State of the Coast conference yet in 2023. And we are undertaking restoration projects across our coast to ensure a brighter future for all Louisianians. CRCL envisions vibrant wetlands, with hurricane protection, bountiful ecosystems, and economic opportunities across Louisiana’s coast.
Our mission is to protect our sacred sites and traditional territory, to maintain our culture and traditions, including our Indian French language, and to support our efforts to obtain federal recognition from the United States government.
Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program
We are a partnership of government, business, scientists, conservation organizations, agricultural interests, and individuals for the preservation, protection, and restoration of the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary in southeast Louisiana.
